Ingredients
3 lbs chicken wings, trimmed and separated at joint
1 cup bourbon (Maker’s Mark is a good choice)
1-12-oz can frozen apple juice concentrate, thawed
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup dark brown sugar
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
1 Tbsp maple syrup
Garnish with 2 scallions, thinly sliced and 2 apple slices, diced
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients (except garnish) in a medium sauce pan. Bring to boil on high heat, reduce to simmer for 40 minutes or until the wings are tender and the glaze has reduced, coating the wings.
- Preheat oven to 325°. Remove wings from pan and place on parchment lined sheet tray. Bake for 15 - 20 minutes until the glaze becomes shiny.
- Garnish with scallions and apple and serve.
