How to Arrange a Holiday Bouquet
by Reba Berge, Tastemaker in Residence
You can adapt this flower recipe to use anything you prefer, while keeping a focus on the green and red of the season.
Step 1: Gather your Materials
Hardgoods: garden shears or knife, flower preservative, water, 1 4x4 cube vase, 1/3 block oasis, 2 green midollino branches, 1 moss-covered branch (optional), 1 frosted pinecone (picked), 1 stem artificial berries, 1 stem gold leaves
Focal Flowers: 3 Red Roses
Secondary Flowers: 1 Mini Green Hydrangea
Foliage: Assorted Winter Greens (cedar, noble fir)
Step 2: Remove any lower leaves to create clean stems on all your flowers
Step 3: Cut Oasis to size and insert into the vase. Fill the vase 3/4 full of water, having mixed in the flower preservative until fully dissolved.
Step 4: Start by inserting your foliage. Cut each stem at a diagonal before insertion.
Step 5: Add in your focal flowers; inserting the tallest red rose first to determine the desired height.
Step 6: Add in your secondary flower.
Step 7: Insert the pinecone, berries, and branches to accent your bouquet.
