W3 Book Club-"The Other Boleyn Girl"

To celebrate a major life milestone, W3 Book Club heralded our featured birthday girl, Laura, with crowns, scepters and a royal Tudor feast! We started the evening with her crowning and induction as Queen of our hearts from the Royal House of Burkholder-Chin.
After her induction, we toasted and curtseyed all around! Each of our participants than drew the part they would play for the evening from a bowl. Characters included:

+Lady Anne Boleyn (later Queen Anne of England, 2nd wife of Henry VIII)
+Princess Mary (daughter of Henry VIII and Katharine of Aragon, later Queen Mary I of England)
+Lady Jane Parker (wife of George Boleyn, aka Lady Boleyn and Lady Rochford)
+Lady Elizabeth Blount (mother of Henry VIII’s illegitimate son, Henry FitzRoy)
+Lady Jane Seymour (later Queen Jane of England, 3rd wife of Henry VIII)
+Lady Anne Shelton (aka Anne Boleyn, aunt to Mary and Anne Boleyn)
+Lady Elizabeth Boleyn (aka Elizabeth Wood, aunt of Anne and Mary Boleyn)
+Queen Katharine of Aragon (divorced and ousted wife of Henry VIII, 1st wife of Henry VIII)
+Lady Bridget Wingfield (Lady in Waiting to both Katharine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn’s courts)
+Lady Madge Shelton (cousin of Anne and Mary Boleyn)
+Lady Elizabeth Somerset, Countess of Worcester (part of both Katharine and Anne’s courts)
+Lady Elizabeth Howard Boleyn, Countess of Wiltshire (Mary and Anne’s mother)
+Lady Jane Dormer, Duchess of Feria (Lady in Waiting to Queen Mary I)
Through the evening we discussed the history of each of these important women in the court of Henry the 8th.
