Ole' from Ronda, Granada & Alhambra

by Teri E. Popp, Tastemaker in Residence

Ole! That one word automatically makes us think of Spain--from tapas to Spanish wines--it conjures the world of flamenco, great food, graceful horses, and bull fighting. First stop Ronda.

On a recent trip to southern Spain, my husband and I visited great friends who shared the beauty of the countryside and its people. We started our adventure in Granada for a tour of the magnificent Alhambra--the royal palace of Yusuf 1, the Sultan of Granada. Known for its gorgeous architecture, the palace graces the skyline of the city.

Many years ago, after collecting trinkets and bric-a-brac throughout my travels, I decided to collect photos of doors instead. Spain was truly the place of dreams for my collection! From Moorish influenced arches to old wooden doors-within-doors, I couldn't believe my great fortune!

Next week join Teri in Tangiers - Morocco a side trip to North Africa.
