Potluck Tree Decorating

Ingredients

  • Colored pieces of construction paper-patterns of holiday theme shapes
  • Spruce tip/permanent botanical tree
  • Casserole dish-foil, rectangle, 4” x 9”
  • 1-Wet floral foam
  • Anchor tape
  • 2 yards wide ribbon
  • 1 length thinner ribbon to tie recipes on to tree Ornaments of your choice and a place to hang gift ornaments

Instructions

  1. Assign each attendee a color of construction paper and a pattern such as snowman, tree, dove 
  2. Ask them to write their recipe of the hotdish/dessert/all good foods ☺ on the colored sheet; once the recipe is brought in, make copies of it to have on the table, next to the tree, for people to help themselves.

Tree

  1. Secure the tree in the container, using wet floral foam that is taped with anchor tape in the bottom. Use any foliage and floral combination of the season at the base of tree alternating with wide ribbons Use thinner ribbons to tie recipes on tree, You can embellish tree with single flower heads by placing fresh flowers in water tubes and wire these onto the tree limbs 
  2. Water foam with fresh clean water with flower food
  3. Tie the original recipe on the tree with thin ribbon provided
  4. Recreate for events such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, book club, cooking group
