What better way to bond with girlfriends than to solve a mystery together! And W3 Book Club decided to do just that for a little weekend getaway at the cabin.
Set in the woodlands of Wisconsin, “Murder at Spirit Falls” follows Robin Bentley and her girlfriends in the No Ordinary Women book club. The ladies spend quality time together enjoying each other’s company, reading books, relaxing, and sharing all of the details about their lives and loves—be it man or dog. But on one such outing, they chance upon the corpse of a young woman, and, suddenly, a mystery needs to be solved.
Our hosts, Mary and Laura S, laid out clues for the W3 Book Club members to follow at Mary’s cabin so we could solve our own “murder mystery.” We set out on a hike from Mary’s place (also conveniently located in Wisconsin on a lake!) to find out who-done-it, and why!! And, just like the ladies of the No Ordinary Women book club, we had our trusty dog, Pippa, by our side to aid us in this endeavor.
From yummy homemade breakfasts, to bar hopping the backwoods, the ladies of W3 bonded and spent a fun weekend in the woods of Wisconsin!
Attire: Cabin themed flannel and warm jammies!
Food and drink: Comfort food and backwoods bars!
Book themes: Girlfriend bonding, aging, cancer, compassion, and a little bit of murder!
Ideas for a murder mystery-themed book club meeting: Write out clues and plant them in 4 or 5 places along the roadside leading to the discovery of the body, like our hosts did! We promise fun will ensue for all!!
