Siri Daly Q&A=Childhood Recipes=Love + Best Late Night Meal
by Cindi Sutter, Chief Communicator & Editor of Spirited Table®
Welcome to week four of my Q&A from Time Inc. Books, Siriously Delicious written by Siri Daly. This is another example of Siri’s answers popping off the page with what I can only imagine is her very real passion for cooking food that beckons her family and guests to the countertop, picnic or Christmas table! A very real gathering, or in her own words, “evokes all of the good feelings!”.
Cindi’s Question #7 - What foods and recipes from your childhood remind you of love? What dishes do you make that are your favorites for showing love?
Siri’s Answer - A specific recipe that reminds me of love is the Slow Cooker Pork Chalupas from my book. At any large gathering growing up, that is what my mom would make, and to me it signifies family. It's sort of a DIY meal, and watching people commune around a table preparing their own, individual plate evokes all of the good feelings!
Cindi’s Question #8 - What’s the best late night simple meal?
Siri’s Answer - Well, I'm not sure you're supposed to be eating pasta late at night for digestive reasons (however, tell that to Italians), but my favorite quick, indulgent meal is Cacio E Peppe. All you need is spaghetti, cheese and pepper...and of course the secret ingredient: PASTA WATER. It's so delicious and you'll feel like you're dining in a fancy Italian restaurant (when you're really just binge watching a Netflix show on your couch).
You can find Siri’s recipe in her Siriously Delicious cookbook or here on Spirited Table. Click Cacio E Peppe for the perfect late night snack!
