W3 Book Club-"Caring for Creation" by Paul Douglas and Mitch Hescox
by Teri Popp & Laura Chin, Tastemakers in Residence
Climate change is a hot topic-both literally and figuratively. And who better than Paul Douglas, meteorologist and owner of AerisWeather, to explain the various facts, figures and nuances of this complicated topic. Fortunately, our host booked a private audience with Paul to discuss "Caring for Creation: The Evangelical's Guide to Climate Change and a Healthy Environment" written by Mr. Douglas and Mitch Hescox.
To fit the book, the theme for the evening was "Rain or Shine." With a theme like that, costuming is fair game including clouds, lightening, sunshine, along with raincoats, umbrellas and galoshes.
Our weather related menu featured:
Beverages: Dense Fog (Dark and Stormy), Supercell (Wine), and Waterspouts (both Sparkling and Still)
Appetizers: Hurricane (Crab Rounds), and Derrocho (Hummus with Veggies and Dips)
Entrees: Tornado (Tournedos of Beef au Poive), Hail (Rice and Onion Deep Dish), Lightening (Roasted Carrots), and Thunder (Cucumber Radish Snap Pea Salad
Dessert: Blizzard (Dairy Queen Blizzard), Snowstorm (Snowballs), and Mud Puddles (Coffee)
The lively book discussion and scrumptious food guaranteed a 100% chance of smiles for everyone in attendance.
Paul Douglas hosts a new radio talk show with Jordana Green on WCCO Radio during drive time from 3-6 pm Mondays through Fridays. Click here for podcasts of their show.
