The world of beer and the food that compliments it: The Spirited Table® Supper Club Beerology event
by Irina Vishnevskaya, Tastemaker in Residence
If you’ve been paying attention at all, you know that it takes relatively little to keep me happy: good food, amazing travel adventures, and beer (the craft and delicious kind). I consider myself incredibly lucky because I get to combine these lovely pleasures all day everyday; I coordinate the design of completely unique travels for really incredible clients (including where and what they should eat) and I also get to continue to be a smart aleck on craft beer because of my time served at the helm of one of Hungary’s first craft breweries. What’s not to love?
On March 15th more than the Ides of March will be celebrated. I get the pleasure of taking a group through the inaugural Spirited Table Supper Club event- this one focused on Beerology- the art and science of beer, food, and the fascinating traditions that surround it. It’ll be like a fast round the world trip you can take with beer in hand, with me as your pilot. You can call 952-473-6500 to make your reservation.
So because my fiancee tells me modesty is not a virtue, let me tell you all the reasons why this is an event you simply can’t miss:
1. The District Fresh Kitchen + Bar is a great restaurant with amazing food
I’m admittedly a snooty resident of a “big city” who looks down on the suburbs as places that are vacuums of good food and culture. But it’s good to be proven wrong every once in a while, and The District in Wayzata does just that. It’s the kind of place you feel good staying and hanging out for a while; the food is comfortable with a bit of a modern perspective, the service is friendly but non intrusive; it’s trendy enough to feel special, but not trendy to the point where you have to act like someone you’re not. The Beerology event is taking place at The District so it’s a great time to check out the place and I think they also have some special treats up their sleeves for participants.
2. This is your chance to finally know your way around a beer list
You’ve heard craft beer is all the rage, and you’ve dabbled a bit in trying some beers, but you still feel like a fish out of water when you look at a beer list. This is your chance to get a wealth of information in a relaxed environment- I’ll make sure to share everything that’s interesting about how beer is made, the different kinds of beer, and why beer is the perfect pair to nearly every meal. We’ll also go over the stories and traditions of these beers from all over the world, and you’ll even get a taste for the best kind of travel- culinary travel.
3. What other plans do you have on Tuesday night?
Getting your oil changed? Taking your kids to swim practice? Netflix binge-watching? It can all wait. You definitely won’t regret it; bring some friends and definitely plan on making some new ones.
I look forward to seeing you March 15th at The District! In the meantime, feel free to get in touch if you have any questions.
