G'Day Mate! Teri's trip to Kuranda

From Cairns, we took another day trip to visit Australia's rain forest at the cute, little, artist community of Kuranda. We made our way up into the mountains on a small-gauge locomotive, enjoying tea, scones and champagne on the way.

Once at the top, we spent a leisurely day with the koalas, wallabies, kangaroos, butterflies and birds. Australia's animals, birds and insects are truly a wonder!  We topped off the day with shopping in the various boutiques of Kuranda, followed by a tram ride down the mountain through the treetops of the rain forest.

Our last Australian stop is next week. We close with a visit to Hobart and the Tasmanian Devil sanctuary.
