Run To It

It's a Monday finish for the British Open at St. Andrews, in Scotland. If you're a fan you know the storylines. Tom Watson says good-bye all the while with 5 Claret Jugs on his mantel. Tiger didn't make the cut to even play the weekend. Phil Mickelson probably finished too far back, but didn't fail to give us the thrills of Phil on his last 18. The young guns are too numerous to list but Dustin Johnson after a gut-wrenching finish at the U.S. Open, didn't play his best yesterday, Jordan Spieth is trying to get the 3rd leg of the Grand Slam (all before his 22nd birthday, a week from today) or Sergio Garcia who splashed on the golf scene as a teenager but hasn't quite fulfilled the hope; but is happy now with life and the love of golf. Louis Oosthuizen, a previous winner of the coveted Claret Jug the last time it was played on the hallowed greens of St. Andrews is playing in the final group with Paul Dunne a young amateur who is walking in the footsteps of Bobby Jones, the last person to win the British Open as an Amateur. And those are just a few of the cast who just might walk away with the Jug.

Then there is Jason Day. The bridesmaid never the bride scenario has haunted him for a very long time. Today he announced to the media and his fans, "You either run to it or you run away from it; today I'm going to run to it."-Jason Day.

So that's Monday's Mantra...Run to it, whatever your Claret Jug looks like, don't be afraid of the victory, the hard work, the fast heartbeat, the dream is real, run to it and never look back.

And once you get your Claret Jug, share it with a spirited table full of friends.
