Memorial Day Table Décor

by Desi Creswell, Tastemaker in Residence

In my house, and I’m sure many of yours, Memorial Day is traditionally seen as the start of the summer season. Grills are out, the family is over for an afternoon of cocktails, food, and fun. To ensure your get-together is a stylish affair, I’ve gathered a few of my favorite ideas for a decorative and tasty Memorial Day gathering.

Refine the Classic Color Palette

Tone down the typical saturated red and blue for a sophisticated take on a classic color palette. Try mixing in an unexpected hue, such as a sunny yellow, to create a chic combination.

Serve in Style

A handmade wood USA cutting board from AHeirloom is the perfect backdrop for an array of cheese, nuts, and meats. Alaska and Hawaii sold separately!

Don’t forget the Details

A subtle nod to the flag, these candles and straws feature bold stripes. Casual linen napkins will look polished with Martha Stewart’s DIY grosgrain ribbon napkin rings

Elevate Food with a Creative Presentation

Chocolate dipped pretzels with festive sprinkles, layered parfaits, and patriotic paper cones are all ways to make simple snacks stand out.

With a little extra effort and creativity this year’s Memorial Day decor is sure to be memorable!
