I Wonder if God has a Birthday
by Kris Ediger
I wonder if God has a birthday
a date to call his own
some time set aside in creation
the day to us unknown.
I wonder if he'd like big presents,
a cake with gooey trim.
Could all of the world join in singing
the "birthday song" to him?
I wonder if God blew out candles
would stars begin to fall?
And can't you imagine the angels
really having a ball?
I wonder if God had his birthday
established by the plan
to celebrate life's own beginning,
the day it all began.
I wonder if someday he'll tell us
when we see his face.
Do you think he'll throw a grand party
at his heavenly place?
I wonder if God has a birthday
A special day, it's true
some time set aside in creation
I wonder, haven't you?
